Discussion:
Minor Mid Week Update

I've started populating the ticket tracker on SF. It's slow going, mainly
because I'm tired already this week. Still, 16 tickets copied over in an at
least semi-usable fashion.

Would people mind checking out what's there, and seeing if it works for
them?

I suppose a link would be useful to people, wouldn't it? My apologies for
leaving it out.

Hi Michael,

I've created a similar TG1 tracker on SF now and also started moving the
tickets. I'm always adding a link to the SF ticket as a comment in the
Trac ticket, and then close the Trac ticket as "duplicate". I suggest we
do the same with the TG2 tickets, so we can see which tickets have
already been moved.

I wanted to hold off on closing them in Trac just yet. Basically, give
people a chance to say yay or nay. If I'm doing something really wrong, it's
easier to recreate the tracker than to track down which tickets I closed in
error.

Once I feel sure that we've got things right, I'm going to add a "migrated"
status to Trac that will also be a resolved state, and we can properly close
things out nicely.

Nothing really wrong, but maybe you should add user names and dates to
the comments.

Unfortunately, the resolutions in Trac 0.10.4 are hard-coded. You can
only change them in newer versions with "trac-admin resolution".

But if you add a comment "Moved to <link to sf ticket>", then I find
these tickets with
select ticket from ticket_change where field='comment' and newvalue like
'%sourceforge.net/p/turbogears%';
and set a proper resolution status on the new (read only) Trac later.

Tonight was a pretty slack night for me. I apologize. I'll get back to
things tomorrow.

DNS updates are propagating right now. Tomorrow morning we'll be able to
switch beta.turbogears.org to the new server, and begin working on the
details of what content goes where.

As for Trac, I thought that capability went further back. Oh well, I'll use
the tools you've provided, and start updating the rest of the tickets
tomorrow, including dates/times.

It's important that docs.turbgoears.org (the MoinMoin wiki) will be kept
running or moved to the new server until the TG 1 docs have been
migrated to Sphinx. Right now both www.turbogears.org and
docs.turbogears.org are not reachable any more.

Okay, that's distressing. I copied all the settings. At least, I thought I
did. Fixing it now.

I copied the settings *too* precisely. Where Kevin gave me CNAMEs, I copied
as is, and that was wrong for the new DNS. He gave me a CNAME of www2 and I
put in www2 when I should have put in www2.turbogears.org

Note: I am *not* saying this is at all Kevin's fault. I screwed up in how I
entered the data.

Updates are now going through the DNS provider, and should start being
visible shortly. On the plus side, you can still visit
http://turbogears.org/ and that will work.
